You are currently viewing Dividend Income Report: December 2023

I hope you had a very Merry Christmas and an equally happy New Year. Here in the Pacific Northwest, December was a largely dreary winter month alternating between cloudy and rainy days with moderately cold temperatures. Regarding the stock market, December saw it trending upward, with the month ending approximately 2000 points higher than when the month started. Not bad. Interest rates are still holding steady and no changes are expected anytime soon.

Well, let’s do the numbers see how my dividend income performed in December.

ARR $44.00
CIK $22.50
CLM $73.68
DHY $27.13
EDF $18.00
EHI $26.80
EHI $26.80
EXG $66.36
NCV $23.80
PFN $32.31
ZTR $15.00
TOTAL $376.38

* Includes Return of Capital

Well, December’s $376.38 total wasn’t all that great, especially when compared to previous Decembers.

Because I needed the cash, I sold off a total of 200 shares of EXG, first 100 shares at $7.75/share and later another 100 shares at $7.75/share. Surprisingly, EHI paid out a second time in December, giving shareholders a nice little Christmas surprise for sure. As for my little experiment in volatile penny stock investing, nothing has changed. I still currently hold 13,500 shares of VDRM (bought at $0.01/share).

Overall, December was largely a “meh” month at best.
