May is now over and after the past couple weeks being cool and overcast here in the Pacific Northwest, summer seems to be picking up steam as we begin June. Yeah! But being a homeowner, that means more outdoor work and maintenance for me. Yay. 😐 Other than that, May was a pretty uneventful month, we didn’t travel anywhere and nothing much was done on the house.

Well, let’s do the numbers and see how May’s dividend payouts stack up:

AWP $ 50.00
BGY $ 38.00*
CHW $ 21.00*
CIK $ 22.00*
CLM $ 47.30*
DHY $ 35.00
DMF $ 10.50
DSM $ 19.25
EAD $ 8.32
EDF $ 45.00*
EHI $ 24.40
EXG $114.00*
FGB $148.75
NCV $ 45.50
OHI $148.50
OIA $ 4.30
PFN $ 36.00
RA $ 69.85
VFL $ 15.00
ZTR $ 33.90
TOTAL $936.57 est.

* Includes Return of Capital

Very nice! Another $900+ month in the bag! (my 4th one!) While a tad bit less than February’s $941.78 (thanks to dividend cuts), it’s still a respectable amount for the second month of the quarter. The other good news for May is that there weren’t any dividend cuts. Yay!

I sold off my TIXC stock at a significant loss, as I wanted the money and felt TIXC will continue its decline. I don’t sell stocks very often, but sometimes it’s best to cut one’s losses and get out before the situation worsens. Fortunately, I didn’t invest that heavily in TIXC (300 shares at $0.89 per share) and I can write off the loss from my 2018 taxes or use it to offset any future capital gains.

Normally I make a separate posting whenever I make new stock buy, but not this time because there’s so little to say. In the final week of May, I bought 75 shares of Tekla Life Sciences Investors (NYSE: HQL) for $19.13 per share. This buy bumps up my projected monthly dividend income by $10.00.

Overall, May was a very good dividend income month. How was your May?

Nice work John, looks like you had an awesome month! Amazing that we only share one company that paid us both in May. Always interesting to see where fellow DGI investors are finding value! Keep up the great work!

Thanks DP! I’m new to DGI, but I hope it works out well. At the very least I hope my DGI investing helps to offset the damage from my other stocks’ dividend cuts.
