You are currently viewing Dividend Income Report: May 2021

Well, May is finished and it proved to be a busy month for me. I went with my wife and father-in-law to spend a week in Florida, visiting family there. This was my third visit to the sunshine state, with my first in 2011 to Orlando to see the final launch of space shuttle Endeavor (it got scrubbed when I was there) and my second trip was a road trip in late 2019 to Fort Walton to visit an in-law’s family there.

The bull market continued its charge onward and my dividend portfolio did well in May. So how did my dividend income do for May? Let’s do the numbers and find out:

AWP $ 44.00
BGY $ 33.80
CIK $ 22.50*
CLM $ 40.05*
DHY $ 27.13
EDF $ 17.50*
EHI $ 26.80
EXG $ 92.40*
FGB $ 70.13
NCV $ 29.75
OHI $117.25
PFN $ 36.00
ZTR $ 24.00
TOTAL $581.31

* Includes Return of Capital

While still respectable, the $581.31 total is not so great, especially in comparison to April’s performance. Still, any money that comes in without trading time is always good.

Unfortunately, EDF cut its dividend from $0.08 per share to $0.07 (a -12.5% cut), dropping its monthly dividend from $20.00 to $17.50. Also, because I again needed the cash, I sold off 20 shares of CODI for $25.13 per share.

Overall May was, as expected, a low performing month. Hopefully in June, the last month of the quarter, will see some good news and a better dividend income total.
